Auditions

Yale Rep is committed to an inclusive casting policy and encourages all actors to audition regardless of an individual’s sex, race, color, religion, age, disability, status as a veteran, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

We welcome accessibility requests to accommodate auditions by actors with disabilities.

Equity Principal Auditions (EPAs) are held every spring in New York and New Haven following the season announcement and are announced here, on this website, and distributed through the AEA Call Notice with a character breakdown for new plays.

For the 2024-2025 season, an EPA will be held locally in New Haven on Thursday, May 30, 2024 and in NYC on June 10 & June 11, 2024.

Play Submissions

Yale Repertory Theatre accepts submissions of full-length plays, musicals, translations, and adaptations. All scripts are considered for productions at Yale Rep and playwrights of those scripts for development opportunities with the Binger Center for New Theatre. We are currently reading for our 24-25 season and beyond. Playwrights must submit their work either through established agents or by first sending a letter of inquiry, accompanied by a brief synopsis, cast breakdown, a 10-page dialogue sample, and a résumé. The Literary Office will review these materials and contact playwrights regarding Yale Rep’s interest in reading a full manuscript. Submissions are accepted year-round. Unsolicited manuscripts will not be reviewed.

Yale Rep prefers electronic submissions: You may send files (as either .doc, .docx, or .pdf) to literary.office@yale.edu. If you wish to submit via USPS, please send to the following address: Yale Rep Literary Office, c/o Yale Repertory Theatre, PO Box 208244, New Haven, CT, 06520-8244. Hardcopy manuscripts will not be returned.
